ContinueThe Responsible Online Commerce Coalition (ROCC) welcomes news of a reported investigation by the FTC into whether Google and Amazon “misled advertisers about the cost and terms of placing ads on their platforms,” as reported by Consumer Affairs on September 15.
“The inquiries are being led by the FTC’s consumer protection unit and focus on whether both companies fully disclosed how their ad auctions and pricing systems worked,” according to the article. More specifically, the agency is reportedly looking into whether Amazon disclosed the minimum bid required to place an ad, also known as “reserve pricing,” to advertisers on its platform.
